By Thursday, Oct. 29, the Roosevelts dining room has been dark for two days and The Restaurant at White Buffalo Club for four. On the same Thursday night, Coe Tavern is still in the last weeks of its season. Jackson Drug has three nights left before it closes on Nov. 1. These dates come from the off-season list Dishing JH published Sept. 28, which also notes that hours can change without notice.
Line the dates up and the town never closes all at once. Closures start in late October, the most overlap comes in a nine-day stretch in mid-November, and the reopening lands almost all at once on Nov. 19 and 20. The deals, free events and community dinners on the calendar fill the gaps around those dates. Read in order, it makes November easy to plan.
Oct. 29–31: The Deadlines Come Before the Closures
Two offers end before November starts.
Teton Science Schools brought back what it calls its "local off-season 2-for-1 tradition." Buy one seat on a Wildlife Expeditions sunrise or sunset tour and the second is free. Wyoming Stargazing is running the same deal on its group stargazing tours in Grand Teton National Park. According to the Teton Science Schools announcement, both offers apply to new reservations made through Oct. 31, 2026, with promo code 2for1. That leaves Oct. 29 through Oct. 31 to book.
The Sunset Wildlife Tour runs four hours in Grand Teton National Park. It leaves from the Teton Science Schools Jackson Campus, and public pricing starts at $165 a seat before park entrance fees and gratuity. The tour runs April 1 through Nov. 30, so a late-November evening is still possible. On a $165 seat, the free second seat is worth at least as much as the one you pay for.
Stargazing takes more checking. The Wyoming Stargazing group tour page lists $175 per person for tours of 2.5 to 4 hours, with a four-person minimum. The same page lists the season as June through September. Before you count on a November night, call 1-844-WYO-STAR and ask which dates the 2for1 code covers.
Two evening events fall in the same three days. The Wyoming Artists Showcase is Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. in The Center Theater, and tickets are $25. On Saturday, Oct. 31, the Jackson Hole Elks Lodge holds its Halloween party, a costume-and-dancing fundraiser for Elks Charities.
Nov. 1–9: The First Doors Close, With Deals on the Way Out
Jackson Drug closes Nov. 1 and reopens Nov. 20. Dishing JH reports that the soda fountain started a $15 Classic Burger & Beer special in October. It runs nightly from 4 to 6 p.m. and includes a Classic Cowboy Smashburger, fries or tots, and a domestic beer, a glass of wine or a soda. According to Dishing, the special comes back with the reopening on Nov. 20 and runs all winter, and Kids Eat Free Wednesdays return for the winter too.
Coe Tavern has a deadline as well. Dishing reports a 2-for-1 special during the last two or three weeks of the season. Its last night is Nov. 8 and it reopens Dec. 6. Coe Tavern and Jackson Drug both run their deals right up to their closing dates.
Also on Nov. 1, Shin Shin opens online reservations for the winter. It hasn't announced a reopening date. It's an easy date to put on the calendar before the December rush.
Nov. 10–18: The Quiet Stretch
On Nov. 8, the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and the Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse close through Nov. 18. Coe Tavern serves its last night the same day. On Nov. 10, the Jackson Hole History Museum closes through the end of the month. From Nov. 10 through Nov. 18, every closure in the table below is in effect except Figgie's, which doesn't start until Thanksgiving.
| Business | Closed | Back |
|---|---|---|
| The Restaurant at White Buffalo Club | Oct. 25–Nov. 25 | Weekends from Nov. 26, daily from Dec. 18 |
| Roosevelts | Oct. 27–Dec. 4 | After Dec. 4 |
| Jackson Drug | Nov. 1–19 | Nov. 20 |
| Coe Tavern | After Nov. 8 | Dec. 6 |
| Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and Steakhouse | Nov. 8–18 | Nov. 19 |
| Jackson Hole History Museum | Nov. 10–30 | Dec. 1 |
| Figgie's | Nov. 26–Dec. 2 | Dec. 3 |
| The Rooftop at The Cloudveil | Closed for the season | Spring 2027 |
Some of Jackson's free programming falls inside this stretch. On Sunday, Nov. 15, the Center for the Arts hosts Jad Abumrad at 7 p.m. as part of the Brainstorm Speaker Series. Admission is free, and tickets are available through the event page. Ten minutes before showtime, any empty seats go to the standby waitlist. A free event on a mid-November Sunday is likely to draw a full house, so get a ticket rather than counting on standby.
Some places stay open through the stretch. Robin's opened at 850 W. Broadway Ave., where Jireh's Tasty Cravings used to be. Elisa and Tyler Nalley serve breakfast, coffee, crepes, boba, Mexican snacks and lunch specials, plus dinner and snacks to go. In its opening coverage, the Jackson Hole News&Guide listed hours of 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Nora's Fish Creek Inn closes for dinner Nov. 9–30, but according to Dishing JH, breakfast stays open the whole time, along with an early bird breakfast special.
Nov. 19–20: Two Days, Several Reopenings
The quiet stretch ends quickly. The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and Steakhouse reopen Thursday, Nov. 19. On Friday, Nov. 20, Jackson Drug reopens and brings back the $15 burger special. Dishing lists Nov. 20 as the opening day of Grand Targhee Resort's 2026–27 winter season.
That night, the Elks Lodge holds Funksgiving. Doors open at 7 p.m. Outta Hot Sghetti plays from 8 to 10, and DJ Chuck Samples plays from 10 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are linked from the lodge's event page. Within two days, Jackson goes from its quietest stretch to a ski area opening, two reopened institutions and a dance night.
Thanksgiving Week: The Last Round of Closures
The calendar turns over once more at Thanksgiving. On Thursday, Nov. 26, the Elks Lodge serves a community Thanksgiving dinner of turkey and dessert from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's free and open to any community member.
The same day, The Restaurant at White Buffalo Club reopens for weekend service, then returns to daily service on Dec. 18. Figgie's closes Nov. 26 and reopens Dec. 3.
Most of the remaining closures end in early December. The Jackson Hole History Museum reopens Dec. 1, Roosevelts after its closure ends Dec. 4, and Coe Tavern on Dec. 6. The Rooftop at The Cloudveil stays closed until spring 2027.
Here is the short version for the fridge:
